Your hand will be dressed with a supportive dressing that permits finer use and light hand movements.Stitches will be removed two weeks post op,pain at night should settle immediately but finger tingling may take a few weeks to go.

You will find your grip is weaker but you should be back to full power after 12 weeks-exercises will be given to you to do-get a bit of help from relatives for the first couple of weeks-good luck

I think it really depends on you and how much pain you can take.

I have a friend who had both wrists done at the same time and was in pain for 2 weeks and still has pain occaisionally. I think she has a very low pain tolerance though, because things that she finds painful I simply find uncomfortable.

They will give you pain meds, but they can make you drowsy. I would have people willing to come and help you with your boys on standby for the first surgery. After that you will know more of how it will go and what to expect. But, I am so anal about things I would also make up several casseroles and freeze them so that if it is painful, I don't have to worry about cooking for several days either.

some people treat this with out surgery and personally I would opt for that first.

Australian Bush Flower Essences system on page 312 of the book "Australian Bush Flower Healing" by Ian White

ISBN-10: 073380

uses Bottle Brush, Crowea and Southern cross.

The combination Calm & Clear Essence with the addition of Southern cross IMO would be a good mix to take (two months should do it) for any pain Emergency Essence cream would be also good to relieve pain.

Worth a try as the combination is about $13 and the other stock bottle that you would use 7 drops in the Calm & Clear combo and shake a few times is around the same price for the Southern Cross You might need two of the Calm and clear though. So costing about $40 (not counting shipping and taxes)

Hmmm. Have you discussed this procedure with your doctor and/or the surgeon Kelly? It's not a long procedure and can even be undertaken endoscopically, which makes recovery faster and indeed the whole business less painful, but you may well require some physical therapy afterward to get wrist strength back up - it's not a walk in the park and it's not without pain and inconvenience that's for sure. Please have a chat with your friendly health professionals and discuss it thoroughly OK?

What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)?

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the name for a group of problems that includes swelling, pain, tingling, and loss of strength in your wrist and hand. Your wrist is made of small bones that form a narrow groove or carpal tunnel. Tendons and a nerve called the median nerve must pass through this tunnel from your forearm into your hand. The median nerve controls the feelings and sensations in the palm side of your thumb and fingers. Sometimes swelling and irritation of the tendons can put pressure on the wrist nerve causing the symptoms of CTS. A person’s dominant hand is the one that is usually affected. However, nearly half of CTS sufferers have symptoms in both hands.

CTS has become more common in the U.S. and is quite costly in terms of time lost from work and expensive medical treatment. The U.S. Department of Labor reported that in 2003 the average number of missed days of work due to CTS was 23 days, costing over $2 billion a year. It is thought that about 3.7 percent of the general public in this country suffer from CTS.
