Okay, here's what you do if you absolutely will not see a doctor. First off, stop using dry toilet paper. The best thing to use are Huggies Baby Wipes, Non-scented. They are better than the average moist bathroom wipes because they are larger. Of course you can't flush them, you have to just throw them away. Clean yourself as thoroughly as possible with them and then let yourself air dry a little before getting dressed again. Do that each time you have a bowel movement (charming phrase isn't it?). If you let it stay too moist, you may find you have some itching later on, and with that you can use witch hazel, but I prefer benadryl spray, which you can spray a small amount on a baby wipe and use after you have cleaned yourself off. It's better for your skin than anything with cortisone in it. If you continue to have a lot of pain and bleeding, there is a device you can buy online, it is a small white tube-shaped thing with a cold-gel inside. You put it in the freezer (I know this sounds horrible, but it works, trust me) and when you are having pain and discomfort, you insert it you-know-where and try to keep it in there for about five or so minutes, until it is not so cold any more. The cold will help shrink the piles and ease the pain and probably ease the bleeding. The device is called Anurex, I think. It is a wee bit expensive but lasts a while and can be used over and over. Most importantly, it really helps.
If your piles feel better but you're still bleeding, you still might want to try a doctor to make sure its not anything more serious. The doctor has seen thousands of butts and yours is just another one, so no need to be too shy. :) Good luck!
