If diagnosed with a very rare illness, what are good strategies for selecting and working with doctors?

In such a case, there are fewer doctors who know much about the illness, but perhaps there are some who are more interested in it.

I would do a literature search on pubmed.gov for the disease name - then I would look at the author of the majority of the papers on that disease, or some recent good ones - then I would email that doctor (name is on the paper along with email address) and I would ask them who in my part of the country he would recommend. That is what I would do.

What illness are we talking about? Personaly I belive that this planet provides a cure for anything imaginable. I also belive in mind over matter. In other words, I belive given the right circumstances, everythig can be healed. Selecting doctors.. Again, I feel that it depends on the illness. Perhaps the book: Natural Cures They Dont Want You To Know About, by David Tredau, might give you an alternative way of thought.. But then again, I dont visit doctors, or take tests for all this and that, as I dont have a need to. So perhaps if you seek something more mainstream reality based, someone alse can answer your question. :) Take care, Love and Light.
