I have ringing in ears for the past 5 weeks. My TSH is 0.27 and my blood work showed a vitamin D deficiency. My doctor put me on 1000 UI Vitamin D which I started from today. He also said that I am overmedicated on Levothyroxine and asked me to take 50 mcg for 2 days and 100 mcg for 5 days.
Please let me know if vitamin D deficiency can cause ringing in ears? If yes, will it go away if my vitamin deficiency is cured. Please let me know.

We can't really ignore that. Herbal remedies also usually do not cause any side effects.

Even modern medicine is now agreeing that several herbs have curative values and have a large role to play.

The ginkgo biloba herb can be extremely effective in treating tinnitus.

It can enhance blood circulation and treat vertigo - both these conditions have been linked to tinnitus.

Ginkgo biloba can also calm your senses and ease the symptoms. On the negative side however,

herbal remedies might not be as effective for everyone.

Essential oils - Sometimes essential oils too work very well.

Some people have got very good results by applying one kind of oil.

And for others, a blend of various oils has worked. Both these approaches can work.

Oils such as Cypress, Lavender and Juniper have been tried by many tinnitus sufferers, and they report positive results.

Essential oils work best when they are applied through vaporization, massage, inhalation, compression and bathing.

Optimizing Your Diet - The food you eat is crucial to your health. When we choose the right foods, we stay healthy,

and when we opt for all that junk stuff, we fall ill.

It's important to say that tinnitus is a symptom and not a disease. Some people will have tinnitus because their Cochlea is damaged. And in a few, it could be caused due to hearing loss. But of course, the most common cause of tinnitus is exposure to loud noises. The noise can be a sudden burst, or it could be a constant banging that hits the ear drum and travels inside.

A good guide you can read about tinnitus and some good natural remedies can be found here: http://tinnitusmiraclehealthy.info

Tinnitus is actually not a disease. It is actually a symptom of a problem that is rooted deep, somewhere within your body. The problem could be a simple one like an infection in the ear, or even simpler, such as ear wax. In some people, it could even be the result of a side-effect of a drug they took. Or it could be more complicated. However, we absolutely can treat it healthily. Read more here:

Never heard of it before. People who are exposed to loud noise on the job and who subsequently develop tinnitus have been found to be generally deficient in Vitamin B12.

There is actually no cure for tinnitus with the conventional medicine. And, since last many years, the onus has been on the herbal industry to provide relief, if any, to tinnitus sufferers.

Tinnitus is usually due to damage to the microscopic ends of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. Perfect hearing is possible only if these nerves remain healthy and any damage to these nerves results in tinnitus or hearing impairment.

Some herbal remedies exist which can be used to support all body systems involved in helping the ear to perform its tasks of clear hearing and balance, as well as the circulatory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.

I heard ringing in my ears too, like louder hearing test. It could be tinnitus. Gets louder over time. Use this to reduce the ringing.

Avoid exposure to loud noises. Keep your blood pressure in check, decrease intake of salt, tobacco, alcohol, oily/fatty foods, sugar, cola, tea, coffee and caffeinated beverages as they might aggravate the problem.Chewing dried fruits helps to increase blood circulation in the ear area.Avoid stress and exercise regularly for better blood circulation in your body.Learn to ignore the noise and divert your mind in other things of your interest...

Some of the most common herbs & biochemic tissue salts used are

• Ginkgo Biloba is excellent for a number of cerebral and circulatory disorders. It is probably the most widely-used herb for tinnitus and many sufferers swear by this natural ingredient.

• Rosemary dilates and strengthens blood vessels and is an excellent circulation tonic. Rosemary is particularly useful for tinnitus that is caused or worsened by high blood pressure and other circulatory conditions.

• Avena Sativa is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels which can contribute to circulatory problems which cause tinnitus.

• Wild Hyssop is also useful in reducing pain and inflammation.

• Salicylic Ac. (30C) is indicated for tinnitus with loud roaring or ringing sounds, which may be accompanied by deafness or vertigo. This remedy is particularly useful in people whose symptoms began with a bout of flu, Meniere’s disease or long-term use of aspirin.

• Ferrum phosphoricum (Ferrum phos. D6) is a homeopathic biochemic tissue salt which supports the absorption of iron in the body. The protective myelin sheath which surrounds all nerve tissue needs iron to supply this vital nutrient to the nerve cells it encases. Regular use of Ferrum phos. can help to prevent dizziness, headaches and restlessness and is of great benefit for those who tend to feel irritable, tense and tired.

• Magnesium phosphate (Mag. phos. D6) well-known as a homeopathic painkiller, Mag. phos. is also of great benefit to the health of the nerves. It acts as a natural anti-spasmodic and a nerve and muscle relaxant and is also frequently recommended for stress headaches.

Hope all this helps

Good Luck!
